Juno — voice-first matchmaking
Effective date: 27 June 2026 | Last updated: 15 July 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Matt Hesketh, an individual based in the United Kingdom, trading as Juno ("Juno", "we", "us", "our"). They govern your use of the Juno mobile application and related services (the "Service").
By creating an account or using the Service, you confirm that you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Please also read our Community & Safety Guidelines, which form part of these Terms.
Juno is a voice-first matchmaking service. You speak with our in-app assistant, and we use an automated compatibility system to suggest a small number of potential matches with a short explanation for each. Juno is a tool to help you meet people. It is not a guarantee that you will be matched, that any match will lead to a relationship, or that any person you meet is who they claim to be.
Juno does not conduct criminal-background or identity checks on users beyond the measures described in our Community & Safety Guidelines. You are responsible for your own decisions about who you talk to and meet, and for your own safety. We strongly encourage you to follow the safety guidance in the app.
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable licence to download and use the Juno app on a device that you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial use, as permitted by the rules of the app store you downloaded it from. This is a licence, not a sale; we and our licensors retain all rights in the Service.
Juno uses a single in-app balance called Sparks. New accounts receive a welcome grant of Sparks. Sparks are spent on time in conversation with Juno and on starting chats with matches ("unlocks"); stronger matches may cost more Sparks to unlock. Current prices, grant amounts, and consumption rates are shown in the app before you spend or buy. There are currently no subscriptions — all purchases are one-off Spark top-up packs.
Purchases made through the App Store or Google Play are subject to that store’s refund policy, and refund requests for money are handled by Apple or Google. Your statutory rights apply, including, for UK and EU consumers, a 14-day right to cancel — although by starting to use digital content immediately you may agree to lose that right for content already supplied. Nothing in these Terms affects your non-waivable statutory consumer rights.
We may change Spark prices, pack contents, grant amounts, and what Sparks are consumed on. Changes apply to future purchases and future use; they do not remove Sparks you have already purchased. Continued use after a change takes effect means you accept the change.
When using Juno you must not:
Breaching these rules may lead to content removal, suspension, or permanent removal from the Service (see section 12).
You keep ownership of the photos, recordings, messages, and other content you provide ("Your Content"). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, process, and display Your Content only as needed to operate and improve the Service and as described in our Privacy Policy, including processing voice recordings and conversation content to generate matches and rationales. This licence ends when you delete the content or close your account, except where we must keep limited copies for legal or safety reasons.
You are responsible for Your Content and confirm you have the right to share it and that it does not break the law or these Terms.
We provide tools to report and block other users, and we operate moderation systems to detect and act on prohibited content and conduct, including obligations under the UK Online Safety Act 2023. We aim to act on serious reports promptly. Our full approach is set out in the Community & Safety Guidelines. We may, but are not obliged to, monitor content, and we are not responsible for the conduct of any user.
The Service uses automated systems, including AI, to converse with you and to generate compatibility scores, matches, and explanations. These outputs are suggestions, not advice or guarantees. They can be incomplete or wrong, and they do not replace your own judgement. Juno does not provide relationship, psychological, medical, or legal advice. You should not rely on Juno’s outputs as the sole basis for any decision about another person.
The Service, including the Juno name, logo, software, designs, and content we provide (but not Your Content), belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. You may not use our brand or materials without our written permission.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all implied warranties. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that matches will be available, suitable, or accurate. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or opportunity, arising from your use of the Service or from any interaction with another user, whether online or offline. Subject to the rights you have that cannot be excluded, our total liability to you for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or [£100]. This does not limit the non-waivable statutory rights of consumers.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you may bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the UK (or, in the EEA, the country) where you live; otherwise the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. Nothing here affects your rights to bring a claim under mandatory local consumer law.
If you downloaded Juno from the Apple App Store, the following additional terms apply between you and us, and Apple is a third-party beneficiary entitled to enforce them:
If you downloaded Juno from Google Play, your use is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service. Google is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for the Service. Refunds for Google Play purchases are handled under Google’s policies.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will give you reasonable notice in the app or by email. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
