Juno, Terms of Service & EULA
Juno, voice-first matchmaking
Effective date: 27 June 2026 | Last updated: 24 August 2026
1. About these terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Matthew Hesketh, an individual based in the United Kingdom, trading as Juno ("Juno", "we", "us", "our"). They govern your use of the Juno mobile application and related services (the "Service").
By creating an account or using the Service, you confirm that you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Please also read our Community & Safety Guidelines, which form part of these Terms.
2. Eligibility
- You must be 18 years of age or older to use Juno. The Service is strictly for adults.
- You must have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms and not be barred from using the Service under the laws of your country.
- You must not have been previously removed from the Service for a breach of these Terms or the Community & Safety Guidelines.
- You must provide accurate registration information and keep it up to date.
3. What Juno is (and is not)
Juno is a voice-first matchmaking service. You speak with our in-app assistant, and we use an automated compatibility system to suggest a small number of potential introductions with a short explanation for each. Juno is a tool to help you meet people. It is not a guarantee that you will be introduced to anyone, that any introduction will lead to a relationship, or that any person you meet is who they claim to be.
Juno does not conduct criminal-background or identity checks on users beyond the measures described in our Community & Safety Guidelines. You are responsible for your own decisions about who you talk to and meet, and for your own safety. We strongly encourage you to follow the safety guidance in the app.
4. Your account
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.
- Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.
- You may have only one account, and you may not share, sell, or transfer it.
5. Licence to use Juno
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable licence to download and use the Juno app on a device that you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial use, as permitted by the rules of the app store you downloaded it from. This is a licence, not a sale; we and our licensors retain all rights in the Service.
6. Keys, purchases, and payment
6.1 Keys (in-app balance)
Talking to Juno is free, for as long as you like. Juno uses a single in-app balance called keys, and a key is spent only when you open a conversation with someone she has introduced you to. New accounts receive one key free. One key opens one conversation; some introductions are opened without a key at all. Current prices and the number of keys an introduction costs are shown in the app before you spend or buy. There are currently no subscriptions, all purchases are one-off key packs.
6.2 Billing
- Key packs are one-off (consumable) purchases billed through your Apple or Google account at the price shown at purchase. Nothing auto-renews.
- Purchased keys do not expire while your account is open. Keys have no cash value, are not transferable, and cannot be exchanged for money.
- Auto-refund if they do not reply: when you spend a key to open a conversation and the other person does not join it within the window stated in the app, that key is automatically returned to your balance. This refund is in keys, not money.
- Keys already consumed on a conversation the other person joined are non-refundable except as required by law.
6.3 Refunds
Purchases made through the App Store or Google Play are subject to that store's refund policy, and refund requests for money are handled by Apple or Google. Your statutory rights apply, including, for UK and EU consumers, a 14-day right to cancel, although by starting to use digital content immediately you may agree to lose that right for content already supplied. Nothing in these Terms affects your non-waivable statutory consumer rights.
6.4 Price changes
We may change key prices, pack contents, grant amounts, and what keys are spent on. Changes apply to future purchases and future use; they do not remove keys you have already purchased. Continued use after a change takes effect means you accept the change.
7. Acceptable use
When using Juno you must not:
- be under 18, or help anyone under 18 access the Service;
- impersonate anyone, misrepresent your identity, or create a fake or misleading profile;
- harass, threaten, abuse, stalk, defame, or intimidate another person;
- post or send content that is illegal, hateful, sexually exploitative, violent, or otherwise prohibited by our Community & Safety Guidelines;
- solicit money, advertise, recruit, or use the Service for any commercial or fraudulent purpose;
- share another person's private information without consent;
- scrape, reverse-engineer, copy, or interfere with the Service, or attempt to bypass usage limits, keys, or security; or
- use the Service in breach of any applicable law.
Breaching these rules may lead to content removal, suspension, or permanent removal from the Service (see section 12).
8. Your content
You keep ownership of the photos, recordings, messages, and other content you provide ("Your Content"). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, process, and display Your Content only as needed to operate and improve the Service and as described in our Privacy Policy, including processing voice recordings and conversation content to generate introductions and rationales. This licence ends when you delete the content or close your account, except where we must keep limited copies for legal or safety reasons.
You are responsible for Your Content and confirm you have the right to share it and that it does not break the law or these Terms.
9. Safety, moderation, and reporting
We provide tools to report and block other users, and we operate moderation systems to detect and act on prohibited content and conduct, including obligations under the UK Online Safety Act 2023. We aim to act on serious reports promptly. Our full approach is set out in the Community & Safety Guidelines. We may, but are not obliged to, monitor content, and we are not responsible for the conduct of any user.
10. AI and matching disclaimer
The Service uses automated systems, including AI, to converse with you and to generate compatibility scores, introductions, and explanations. These outputs are suggestions, not advice or guarantees. They can be incomplete or wrong, and they do not replace your own judgement. Juno does not provide relationship, psychological, medical, or legal advice. You should not rely on Juno's outputs as the sole basis for any decision about another person.
11. Intellectual property
The Service, including the Juno name, logo, software, designs, and content we provide (but not Your Content), belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. You may not use our brand or materials without our written permission.
12. Suspension and termination
- You may stop using Juno and delete your account at any time in the app.
- We may suspend or terminate your access, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms or the Community & Safety Guidelines, if required by law, or to protect users or the Service.
- On termination, your licence ends and you must stop using the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive (including sections 8, 10, 11, 13, 14, and 15) will continue to apply.
- We will handle your data after termination as described in our Privacy Policy.
13. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all implied warranties. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that introductions will be available, suitable, or accurate. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
14. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or opportunity, arising from your use of the Service or from any interaction with another user, whether online or offline. Subject to the rights you have that cannot be excluded, our total liability to you for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or [£100]. This does not limit the non-waivable statutory rights of consumers.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you may bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the UK (or, in the EEA, the country) where you live; otherwise the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. Nothing here affects your rights to bring a claim under mandatory local consumer law.
16. Apple App Store, additional terms (EULA)
If you downloaded Juno from the Apple App Store, the following additional terms apply between you and us, and Apple is a third-party beneficiary entitled to enforce them:
- These Terms are between you and Juno only, not with Apple. Juno, not Apple, is solely responsible for the app and its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
- If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price (if any); to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app, and any other claims relating to the app are Juno's responsibility.
- Juno, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the app, including product-liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet a legal requirement, and consumer-protection or privacy claims.
- In the event of any third-party claim that the app or your use of it infringes that party's intellectual-property rights, Juno, not Apple, is responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement, and discharge of that claim.
- You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as "terrorist supporting", and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- You must comply with any applicable third-party terms when using the app.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and upon your acceptance Apple has the right to enforce them against you.
17. Google Play, additional terms
If you downloaded Juno from Google Play, your use is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service. Google is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for the Service. Refunds for Google Play purchases are handled under Google's policies.
18. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will give you reasonable notice in the app or by email. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
